بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
يَا أَيُّهَا الْمُزَّمِّلُ (1)
قُمِ اللَّيْلَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا (2)
نِصْفَهُ أَوِ انقُصْ مِنْهُ قَلِيلًا (3)
أَوْ زِدْ عَلَيْهِ وَرَتِّلِ الْقُرْآنَ تَرْتِيلًا (4)
إِنَّا سَنُلْقِي عَلَيْكَ قَوْلًا ثَقِيلًا (5)
إِنَّ نَاشِئَةَ اللَّيْلِ هِيَ أَشَدُّ وَطْئًا وَأَقْوَمُ قِيلًا (6)
إِنَّ لَكَ فِي النَّهَارِ سَبْحًا طَوِيلًا (7)
وَاذْكُرِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ وَتَبَتَّلْ إِلَيْهِ تَبْتِيلًا (8)
رَّبُّ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ فَاتَّخِذْهُ وَكِيلًا (9)
وَاصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَاهْجُرْهُمْ هَجْرًا جَمِيلًا (10)
وَذَرْنِي وَالْمُكَذِّبِينَ أُولِي النَّعْمَةِ وَمَهِّلْهُمْ قَلِيلًا (11)
إِنَّ لَدَيْنَا أَنكَالًا وَجَحِيمًا (12)
وَطَعَامًا ذَا غُصَّةٍ وَعَذَابًا أَلِيمًا (13)
يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ الْأَرْضُ وَالْجِبَالُ وَكَانَتْ الْجِبَالُ كَثِيبًا مَّهِيلًا (14)
إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَيْكُمْ رَسُولًا شَاهِدًا عَلَيْكُمْ كَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ رَسُولًا (15)
فَعَصَىٰ فِرْعَوْنُ الرَّسُولَ فَأَخَذْنَاهُ أَخْذًا وَبِيلًا (16)
فَكَيْفَ تَتَّقُونَ إِن كَفَرْتُمْ يَوْمًا يَجْعَلُ الْوِلْدَانَ شِيبًا (17)
السَّمَاءُ مُنفَطِرٌ بِهِ ۚ كَانَ وَعْدُهُ مَفْعُولًا (18)
إِنَّ هَٰذِهِ تَذْكِرَةٌ ۖ فَمَن شَاءَ اتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِ سَبِيلًا (19)
إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ تَقُومُ أَدْنَىٰ مِن ثُلُثَيِ اللَّيْلِ وَنِصْفَهُ وَثُلُثَهُ وَطَائِفَةٌ مِّنَ الَّذِينَ مَعَكَ ۚ وَاللَّهُ يُقَدِّرُ اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ ۚ عَلِمَ أَن لَّن تُحْصُوهُ فَتَابَ عَلَيْكُمْ ۖ فَاقْرَءُوا مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ ۚ عَلِمَ أَن سَيَكُونُ مِنكُم مَّرْضَىٰ ۙ وَآخَرُونَ يَضْرِبُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ يَبْتَغُونَ مِن فَضْلِ اللَّهِ ۙ وَآخَرُونَ يُقَاتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ۖ فَاقْرَءُوا مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنْهُ ۚ وَأَقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَآتُوا الزَّك
َاةَ وَأَقْرِضُوا اللَّهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًا ۚ وَمَا تُقَدِّمُوا لِأَنفُسِكُم مِّنْ خَيْرٍ تَجِدُوهُ عِندَ اللَّهِ هُوَ خَيْرًا وَأَعْظَمَ أَجْرًا ۚ وَاسْتَغْفِرُوا اللَّهَ ۖ إِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ (20)
Here is the English translation:
O you who wraps himself [in clothing],
Arise [to pray] the night, except for a little –
Half of it – or subtract from it a little
Or add to it, and recite the Qur’an with measured recitation.
Indeed, We will cast upon you a heavy word.
Indeed, the hours of the night are more effective for concurrence [of heart and tongue] and more suitable for words.
Indeed, for you by day is prolonged occupation.
And mention the name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with complete devotion.
[He is] the Lord of the East and the West; there is no deity except Him, so take Him as Disposer of [your] affairs.
And be patient over what they say and avoid them with gracious avoidance.
And leave Me with [the matter of] the deniers, those of ease [in life], and allow them respite a little.
Indeed, with Us [for them] are shackles and burning fire
And food that chokes and a painful punishment –
On the Day the earth and the mountains will convulse and the mountains will become a heap of sand pouring down.
Indeed, We have sent to you a Messenger as a witness upon you just as We sent to Pharaoh a messenger.
But the Pharaoh defied the Messenger, so We seized him with a destroying seizure.
How can you, if you disbelieve, be cautious of a Day that will make children grey-headed?
The heaven shall burst therewith, and His threat is surely to be fulfilled.
Indeed, this is a reminder, so let him who will take for his Lord a way.
Indeed, your Lord knows, [O Muhammad], that you stand [in prayer] almost two-thirds of the night or half of it or a third of it, and [so do] a group of those with you. And Allah determines [the extent of] the night and the day. He has known that you will never be able to-perform it, so turn to Him in repentance. Then recite from the Quran that which is easy. He has known that there will be among you those who are ill and others traveling throughout the land seeking [something] of the bounty of Allah and others fighting for the cause of Allah. Wherefore recite of the Qur’an that which is easy for you, and establish prayer and give zakah and lend unto Allah a goodly loan. Whatever of good you sent ahead for yourselves, you shall find it with Allah; better it shall be and greater in reward. And seek pardon of Allah; surely, Allah is Most-Forgiving, Most-Merciful.

Surah Al-Muzzammil (المزمل)
Translation:
اے کپڑے میں لپیٹنے والے!
رات کے وقت عبادت کے لئے باتھو، صرف تھوڑا سا بچا لو۔
اس کا ایک نصف یا اس میں سے کچھ کم کریں۔
یا اس میں کچھ زیادہ کریں، اور قرآن کو تمیز سے پڑھو۔
ہم تم پر بھاری کلمہ ڈالیں گے۔
بیشک، رات کے اوقات دل اور زبان کے میل کے لئے زیادہ موزوں ہیں اور الفاظ کے لئے بھی۔
بیشک، تمہارے لئے دن کو بڑی محنت ہے۔
اور اپنے رب کے نام کو یاد کرو اور اس کی طرف سرپرستی کرتے رہو۔
مشرق اور مغرب کا رب، بیشک کوئی معبود نہیں ہے مگر وہ، اس کو سرپرست بنالو۔
اور جو کچھ لوگ تمہارے بارے میں کہتے ہیں ان پر صبر کرو اور خوبصورتی سے ان سے بچو۔
اور مجھے (ان کافروں) کے ساتھ چھوڑ دو، جو نعمتوں کے اندھے ہیں، اور ان کو تھوڑی دیر کی چھٹی دو۔
بیشک ہمارے لئے ان کے لئے پر ہوں گے اور جہنم بھی۔
اور گالی کھانے والی چیز، اور دردناک عذاب۔
جس دن زمین اور پہاڑ ہل کھل جائیں گے اور پہاڑ بھی مٹی کے چٹھڑے بن جائیں گے۔
لس، ضرور ہم نے تم پر ایک گواہ رسول بھیجا، جیسا ہم نے فرعون پر بھیجا تھا۔
پھر فرعون نے رسول کی نافرمانی کی، پھر ہم نے ان کو بڑی بھیڑ کے ساتھ پکڑا۔
پھر تم کیس بات کا ڈر رکھتے ہو اگر تم کافر ہو کر بھی ایسا دن آ جائے کہ بچے بڑھے ہوں گے۔
اس کے بعد آسمان کچھ مٹ جائے گا، اور یہ اللہ کا وعدہ بھی کامیاب ہو چکا ہے۔
یقینا یہ ذکر ہے۔ پس جس کو چاہے اپنے رب کی तरफ راہ لے۔
بیشک، تمہارا رب جانتا ہے (اے محمد!) کہ تم رات کی تقریباً دو تہائی، یا اس کا نصف، یا اس کا تہہ دینے کھڑے ہوتے ہو، اور
ہارے ساتھیوں میں ایک جماعت بھی، اور اللہ رات اور دن کی میعاد مقرر کرتا ہے، وہ جانتا ہے کہ تم اس کو حاصل نہیں کر سکو گے، پھر اس نے تم پر رحم فرمایا اور تمہیں بخش دیا، تو جو کچھ قرآن آسان ہو وہ پڑھو۔ اس نے جان لیا کہ تم میں بعض بیمار ہوں گے اور بعض دوسروں کی جگہ جہاں اللہ کی نعمت کی تلاش کر رہے ہوں گے، اور بعض اللہ کی راہ میں جہاد کر رہے ہوں گے، پس جو کچھ آسان ہو اس میں سے پڑھو، اور نماز قائم رکھو، اور زکوۃ دو اور اللہ کو اچھی قرض دو۔ اور جو کچھ تم لوگ اچھا کرو گے، تم اسے اللہ کے پاس پائو گے، بہتر اور بڑا اجر ہے۔ اور اللہ سے مغفرت مانگو۔ بیشک اللہ بڑا مغفور و رحمت والا ہے۔
