بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ:
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم. SURA 1: “In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.” The sura opens with the reminder that Allah is Most Gracious and Most Merciful-He is the source of all mercies and compassion.
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ:
“الحمد لله رب العالمين” means “Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds.” Here, we introduce that Allah is the Lord and owner of all the worlds; we are thanking Him and praising Him for everything.
Ar-Rahmaan Ar-Rahiim:
“الرحمن الرحيم” is a repetition in order to remind us that Allah is Ar-Rahman Ar-Rahiim, the source of unlimited mercy and polish.
Maaliki Yawmiddin:
“مالك يوم الدين” would mean “مالك يوم الدين”. Here, it mentions that Allah is the master of the day of judgment; the day of reward and account.
Iyyaka Na’budu wa Iyyaka Nastain:
“إياك نعبد وإياك نستعين” is “إياك نعبد، وإياك نستعين.” We are identifying herein that we worship Allah alone and seek assistance from Him in all matters pertaining to our life.
Guide us onto the straight path:
” اهدنا الصراط المستقيم” means “اهدنا الى الصراط المستقيم.” We ask Allah to guide us on to the right direction, the path pleasing to Him.
A path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor-not of those who have evended You, nor of those who are astray.
“صراط الذين أنعمت عليهم غير المغضوب عليهم ولا الضالين” means “The way of those upon whom Thou hast bestowed Thy grace, not of those upon whom Thy wrath is brought down, nor of those who go astray.” We ask Allah to make us on the right path of those whom He has blessed and not to make us of those who are astrayed or despised.
The basic charter and foundation of Muslim worship, in addition to declaring the belief in the unity of Allah, depicts ‘the guidance for the right path in life’.
Surah Al-Fatiha
Surah Al-Fatiha is the very first chapter of the Quran and is recited in every unit of the Muslim prayer – Salah. It is also known as “Ummul-Kitab”, an Arabic term, which translates to “Mother of the Book”. Indeed, such a title signifies the significance of this Surah, for it entails the summary of the whole Quran and instructs a person in worldly and Hereafter matters.
The glorification and praise for Allah alone, besides the recognition of His mercy, besides His sovereignty on the Day of Recompense-the prayer for guidance has come, and asking help to live upon righteousness.
Surah Al-Fatiha occupies a central place in Islamic worship and its recitation forms part of the daily prayers of Muslims.
سورة الفاتحة Surah Al-Fatiha is the first sura of the Quran and is read in every prayer at every raka’a. The surah is also the shortest yet most important sura of the Quran; it has also been termed “اُمّ الكِتاب” or, in other words, “کتاب کی اُمّ المثل”. This means that this surah is an example of the Quran and an overall brief book on this world and life thereafter.
اس سورۃ میں اللہ کی حمد و ثنا، رحمت، مالکیت یوم الدین، عبادت کرنے کی دعا اور راہنمائی کی دعا کا ذکر ہے۔ یہ ہر مسلمان کی نماز میں اہم رکن ہے اور اس کی تلاوت کو بہت بڑے ثواب کے ساتھ منسلک کیا گیا ہے۔

The need for prayer would be nullified without the presence of Surah Al-Fatiha in any Salah; this means that no Muslim prayer is complete without having Surah Al-Fatiha. It forms the most basic essentiality and obligation for any Muslim prayer, Salah. This fact manifests in every unit of every prayer and hence central in daily worship. Salah is one of the key pillars of Islam, and without Surah Al-Fatiha being recited, the prayer would not be taken as completed.
Opening of the Quran-Ummul Kitab: It is called “Ummul-Kitab,” an Arabic word that means the Mother of the Book. In this respect, it designates the surah of Al-Fatiha as the summary and the essence of the themes that run throughout the whole Quran.
Praise and Gratitude to Allah: The Surah opens with praise and gratitude to Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala for His mercy, for being the Lord, and for His sovereignty over all worlds. It sets the tone for a believer’s relationship with the Creator.
Seeking Guidance: In Surah Al-Fatiha, Muslims implore Allah for the straight path that leads to righteousness, thus reflecting the importance of seeking guidance from above in all aspects of life.
Remembering the Day of Judgment: The Surah carries in it an admission of the Day of Reckoning when one would be held accountable for his deeds in the Life Hereafter. It thus is a constant reminder to the transient nature of life destined for Allah.
The implications of Surah Al-Fatiha surpass the mere act of reciting this Surah into the roots of belief, worship, and spirituality in Islam.iritual connection with Allah
