The Quran is the Holy Book of Islam, the word of God as revealed to the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, by the angel Gabriel. It is traditionally written in Arabic, and it is categorized into chapters, which are known as Surah, which in turn are divided into verses, referred to as Ayahs.
This is the translation of the Holy Quran in other languages. It shows the teachings of the Holy Book to the readers who are not Arabic-centered. Roman Urdu is one of the languages used as a transliteration for the language of Urdu through the Roman alphabet.
In Roman Urdu, the translation of the Quran is done in such a way that each word in Arabic is translated to the Urdu word but using only Roman letters to represent them. It allows Urdu speakers who are more accustomed to the Roman script to read and understand the Quran. However, while making this translation and providing it to readers, let it be said that a translation of the Holy Quran into any language-let alone Roman Urdu-can never give the full meaning and depth, which are there in the Arabic original, since Arabic is regarded in Islam as the language of revelation.
