Sahih Muslim Hadith, No. 2024 Arabic

Hadith: Narrated Is’haq bin Ibrahim and Ali bin Hushram, both from Isa bin Yunus who said: Ibn Hushram narrated to us from Al A’mash from Abi Sufyan, from Jabir bin Abdullah who said: Salik Al Ghatafani came on Friday when the Messenger of Allah -peace be upon him- was delivering the sermon. He said to him, “O Salik, get up and make two rak’ahs. Make “. Then he said, “When one of you comes on Friday and the Imam is delivering the sermon, let him make two rak’ahs, but let him make tasbih in it “.

English Translation:
Narrated Jabir bin Abdullah: Sulaiman bin Surd came on Friday when the Prophet -peace be upon him- was delivering the sermon while sitting, and he sat down. Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) said to him, “O Sulaiman! Get up and pray two rak’ahs and make them brief.” Thereupon Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) said, “When one of you attends the Friday prayer and the Imam is delivering the sermon, he should pray two rak’ahs taking short time. “

جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ جمعہ کے دن سلیمان الغطفانی آیا اور رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم خطبہ فرما رہے تھے اور وہ بیٹھے ہوئے تھے، تو اُنہوں نے بھی بیٹھ لیا، تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ان سے فرمایا: “ای سلیمان! اُٹھ کر دو رکعتیں پڑھ اور انہیں مختصر رکھ”. پھر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ: “جب بھی تم میں سے کوئی جمعہ کی نماز کیلئے امام خطبہ فرما رہا ہو اور تمہیں نماز کی تھاکت ہو تو دو رکعتیں پڑھ لیا کرو اور انہیں مختصر رکھ لیا کرو۔”

Narrated Ka’b bin ‘Ujra: Abdur-Rahman bin Abu Bakr came to the mosque and Abdur-Rahman bin Al-Harith was sitting there. Abdur-Rahman bin Al-Harith asked (‘AbdurRahman bin Abu Bakr), “Tell me what you heard from the Prophet (ﷺ) about standing in prayers?” ‘Abdur-Rahman bin Abu Bakr replied, “I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, ‘I saw him (i.e., Allah’s Apostle) standing and praying while sitting and I came to know that afflictions might befall you; so whoever among you can stand, he should pray while standing, and whoever among you is not able to pray while standing, he should pray while sitting and whoever among you is not able to pray while sitting, he should pray lying and then Ibn ‘Abbas recited the verse:– “And when you (Muslims) travel in the land, there is no sin on you if you shorten your Salat (prayer) if you fear that the disbelievers may attack you.” (Surah An-Nisa, 4:101)

کعب بن عجرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ ابو عبیدہ نے کہا: یہ خبیث کو دیکھو کہ بیٹھ کر خطبہ دے رہا ہے، اور اللہ تعالیٰ نے فرمایا: جب وہ تجارت یا لہو دیکھتے ہیں تو ان کی طرف فرار ہو جاتے ہیں اور تمہیں قائم چھوڑ دیتے ہیں (سورة الجمعة آیت نمبر 11)۔

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ مُخَوَّلِ بْنِ رَاشِدٍ ، عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ الْبَطِينِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : ” كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ الم تَنْزِيلُ السَّجْدَةِ وَهَلْ أَتَى عَلَى الْإِنْسَانِ حِينٌ مِنَ الدَّهْرِ ، وَأَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي صَلَاةِ الْجُمُعَةِ سُورَةَ الْجُمُعَةِ ، وَالْمُنَافِقِينَ “.

Narrated by Ibn Abbas that in the Fajr prayer of Friday, the Holy Prophet would recite “Alif-Lam-Mim Tanzil-as-Sajda” (Surah As-Sajda) and “Hal Ata Al-Insani Hienun Minad-Dahri” (Surah Al-Insan) during the first two rak’ahs of salat and during the second two rak’ahs, he would recite “Surah Al-Jumu’ah” (Chapter 62)

وحَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ. ح وحَدَّثَنَا عَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ ، وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، كِلَاهُمَا ، عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : ” مَنْ كَانَ مِنْكُمْ مُصَلِّيًا بَعْدَ الْجُمُعَةِ ، فَلْيُصَلِّ أَرْبَعًا “. وَلَيْسَ فِي حَدِيثِ جَرِيرٍ : مِنْكُمْ .

English Translation:
Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, “Whoever among you pray after Jumu’ah, he should pray four Rak’at.” There is no mention of. “among you” in Jarir’s Hadith.
ابو ہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: “جمعہ کے بعد تم میں سے جو کوئی نماز پڑھتا ہے، وہ چار رکعتیں پڑھے.” جریر کی روایت میں “تم میں سے” کی ذکر نہیں ہے.

حَدَّثَنِي سُرَيْجُ بْنُ يُونُسَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَبْجَرَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ وَاصِلِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ أَبُو وَائِلٍ : خَطَبَنَا عَمَّارٌفَأَوْجَزَ وَأَبْلَغَ ، فَلَمَّا نَزَلَ ، قُلْنَا : يَا أَبَا الْيَقْظَانِ لَقَدْ أَبْلَغْتَ وَأَوْجَزْتَ ، فَلَوْ كُنْتَ تَنَفَّسْتَ ، فَقَالَ : إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : ” إِنَّ طُولَ صَلَاةِ الرَّجُلِ وَقِصَرَ خُطْبَتِهِ ، مَئِنَّةٌ مِنْ فِقْهِهِ ، فَأَطِيلُوا الصَّلَاةَ ، وَاقْصُرُوا الْخُطْبَةَ ، وَإِنَّ مِنَ الْبَيَانِ سِحْرًا ” .

English Translation:
Narrated Abu Wa’il: Ammar addressed us and was brief and comprehensive. When he finished, we said, “O Abu Al-Yaqdhan! You have made the sermon brief and comprehensive. If only you had prolonged it a little.” He replied, “I have heard the Messenger of Allah -peace be upon him- saying, ‘The length of a man’s prayer and the shortness of his sermon indicate his understanding of religion. Therefore, prolong your prayer and shorten your sermon. Indeed, some eloquence is magic.'”

ابو وائل رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ ہمیں عمار نے خطبہ فرمایا اور انہوں نے خطبہ مختصر اور کامل بنایا۔ جب خطبہ مکمل ہو گیا، ہم نے کہا: “یا ابو الیقظان! تم نے خطبہ مختصر اور کامل بنا دیا۔ اگر تم تھوڑی سی لمبائی دےتے،” انہوں نے جواب دیا: “میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے: ‘ایک آدمی کی نماز کی لمبائی اور اس کی خطبہ کی مختصری اس کے دینی علم کو ظاہر کرتی ہے۔ اس لئے اپنی نماز کو لمبا کریں اور اپنی خطبہ کو مختصر رکھیں۔ بے شک کچھ بیان کا جادو ہوتا ہے۔'”

وحَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، وَإسحاق بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ قُتَيْبَةُ : حَدَّثَنَا ، وَقَالَ إسحاق : أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو ، سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، يَقُولُ : ” دَخَلَ رَجُلٌ الْمَسْجِدَ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْطُبُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ ، فَقَالَ ” أَصَلَّيْتَ ؟ ” قَالَ : لَا ، قَالَ : ” قُمْ فَصَلِّ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ ” ، وَفِي رِوَايَةِ قُتَيْبَةَ ، قَالَ : ” صَلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ “.

Narrated Jabir bin Abdullah: A man entered the mosque while the Messenger of Allah was delivering the sermon on Friday. The Prophet asked him, “Have you prayed?” He replied, “No.” Thereupon the Prophet said, “Stand and pray two Rak’ahs.” Qutaibah’s narration states, “Pray two Rak’ahs.

و حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، وعَبْدِ اللَّهِ ابني عبد الله بن عمر ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمِثْلِهِ .

English Translation:

Narrated Salim and Abdullah bin Abdullah bin Umar, from Ibn Umar, from the Prophet :

“Whoever sells a palm tree that has been pollinated, its fruits belong to the seller, unless the purchaser stipulated a condition. And whoever buys a slave who has wealth, his wealth belongs to the seller, unless the purchaser stipulated a condition.”
Translation in Urdu:
صالح اور عبداللہ بن عبداللہ بن عمر نے ابن عمر سے، ابن عمر نے نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے روایت کی:

” simplify:جدھر سے جو شخص کھجور کا وہ درخت بیچے جس پر پھول آچکے ہوں تو اس کے پھل بیچنے والے کے ہی ہوں گے جب تک کہ خریدار شرط نہ لگائے۔ اور جو شخص مالدار غلام خریدے تو اس کا مال بیچنے والے کا ہی ہوگا جب تک کہ خریدار شرط نہ لگائے۔”۔۔۔۔ سرور

Hadith in Arabic with English/Urdu Translation

وحَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُغِيرَةُ يَعْنِي الْحِزَامِيَّ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَHe said, “The best day that the sun rose on was Friday, the day on which Adam was created and the day on which he entered Jannah and the day he was expelled from it, and it is not but on Friday that Qiyaamah will take place.
Abu Huraira narrated that the Prophet -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- said: “The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday; on it Adam was created, on it he was made to enter Paradise, and on it he was expelled from it. And the Hour will not be established except on Friday. “

Urdu Translation:
عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: “مَنْ حَسَّنَ فَإِنَّ خَيْرَ يَوْمٍ طَلَعَتْ فِيهِ الشَّمْسُ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ، فِيهِ خَلَقَ اللَّهُ آدَمَ، وَفِيهِ أَدْخَلَهُ الْجَنَّةَ، وَفِيهِ أَخْرَجَهُ مِنْهَا، وَلَا تَقُومُ الْقِيَامَةُ إِلَّا فِيهِ”.6833

Urdu Translation:
ابوہریرہ اور ابو طاؤس نے اپنے والد سے، ابوہریرہ سے روایت کی:

رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا: “ہم آخری ہیں، لیکن ہم قیامت کے دن سب سے آگے ہوں گے۔”

عن ابی شیبة عن جریر ﴿ قال ابن أبي شیبة ﴾ حدثنا عثمان بن أبی شیبة وإسحاق بن إبراهیم کلاهما عن جریر قال عثمان حدثنا جریر عن حصین بن عبد الرحمن عن سالم بن أبی الجعد عن جابر بن عبد الله قال : إن النبي صلى الله علیه وسلم کان یدعو قائما یدعوم یدعو غیر الخطبة.

Narrated by Uthman bin Abi Shaybah and Ishaq bin Ibrahim, both of them, from Jarir, who said: Uthman narrated to us from Jarir, from Husayn bin Abdur Rahman, from Salim bin Abi Al-Ja’d, from Jabir bin Abdullah, that the Prophet -peace be upon him- used to deliver the sermon on Friday while standing. Then a caravan of the people of Syria arrived and they went to meet the caravan, and just about twelve persons stayed with the Prophet, then this verse was revealed: “And if they see some merchandise or amusement, they disperse to it and leave thee standing”. رو Bahamas ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي. ح وحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، كِلَاهَمَا ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ مِثْلَهُ .

English Translation:
Narrated by Ibn Numayr, narrated by my father, narrated by Abu Kurayb, narrated by Waki’, both of them, from Sufyan with this chain of narration exactly like it.

Urdu Translation:
Ibn Numair informed us about the tradition narrated on the authority of his father. Abu Kuraib informed us the tradition on the authority of Waki’. Waki’ reported to me on the authority of Sufyan mutawatir like this.

و دادنا عبد اللَّهِ بن مسلمة بن قعنب و يحيى بن يحيى و عليُّ بن حجر، قال يحيى: أخبرنا وقال الآخران: حدثنا عبد العزيز بن أبي حازم عن أبيه عن سهل قال: ” ما كنا نغدّي ولا نتغدًى إلا بعد الجمعة “. زاد ابن حجر: في عهد رسول اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.

The English words that best translate the Hadith are:

Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah said, “We are the last to come but the first to enter Paradise on the Day of Resurrection. They were given the Book before us, and we after them. They then differed concerning it, so Allah guided us to that concerning which they differed of the truth. This is their day concerning which they differed. Allah has guided us to it.” He said, “Friday is our day; the day after tomorrow is for the Jews, and the day after that is for the Christians.”

Translation:

Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Messenger of Allah said, “There is an angel for each door of the mosque. The angel writes down the name of the first person to enter the mosque, and the estimation is like that of a cutting ax. Then they are made smaller until they are like the size of an egg. When the Imam sits down-for the sermon-the scrolls are rolled up and they attend the remembrance-Salah.”

قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ وَأَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَإسحاق الْحَنْظَلِيُّ كلهم عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ قَالَ قُتَيْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَمْرٍو سَمِعَ عَطَاءً يُخْبِرُ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ يَعْلَى عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْرَأُ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ وَنَادَوْا يَا مَالِكُ سورة الزخرف آية 77.

This Hadith can be translated into English as follows:

We were told by Qutaibah ibn Sa’id, Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah, and Ishaq al-Hanzali, all of whom reported from ibn Uyaynah, that he said: Qutaibah said, “Sufyan narrated to us on the authority of Amr, that he heard Ata relating from Safwne ibn Ya’la, on the authority of his father, that he had heard the Prophet of Allah, peace be upon him, recite the following, from the pulpit, ‘And they will call, “O Malik” .’ *

ہمیں قتیبہ بن سعید، ابو بکر بن ابی شیبہ، اور اسحاق الحنظلی، سب نے ابن عُیینہ سے روایت کی کہتے ہیں، قتیبہ نے کہا: سفیان نے ہمیں امر سے، جو عطاء کو سنا، حکایت کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ انہوں نے صفوان بن یعلی کے والد سے روایت کی کہ وہ نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو مِنبر پر پڑھتے ہوئے سنا: “اور وہ بلائےں گے، اے مالک – سورۃ الزخرف، آیت نمبر 77۔”
