اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ۔ لَا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ ۔ لَّهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ۔ مَن ذَا الَّذِي يَشْفَعُ عِندَهُ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ۔ یَعْلَمُ مَا بَیْنَ أَیْدِیهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ ۔ وَلَا یُحِیطُونَ بِشَیْءٍ مِّنْ عِلْمِهِ إِلَّا بِمَا شَاءَ ۔ وَسِعَ کُرْسِیُّهُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ ۔ وَلَا یَئُودُهُ حِفْظُهُمَا ۔ وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ۔
اُردو ترجمہ:
“Allah! There is no god but He, the Living, the Ever-Lasting! Slumber seizes Him not, nor sleep. To Him belongs what in the heavens and the earth. Who is there that shall intercede with Him save by His leave? He knows that which before their (people, and behind them, and they do not encompass anything of His knowledge save what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and the preservation of them does not tire Him; and He is the High, the Great.”.
Interpretation and Explanation:
Now, let me elaborate on the meaning of each word and its significance in this verse in detail:
Absolute Monotheism:
This Verse of the Throne stands as a witness to a fundamental doctrine, which is the belief in Islamic monotheism. It says, “Allah! There is no god but He.” This assertion brings one back to the foremost of the cardinal tenets in Islam: that no being has any right worth worshiping other than Allah, the one God who is the creator and sustainer of everything within the universe.
Cosmic Attributes:
Now, let’s proceed a little further and look into some of the most important attributes of Allah explained through Aayatul Kursi: “Alive” and “One Who maintains”. The verse speaks about God who is eternally living and exalted to the position beyond human understanding.

آیت الکرسی اللہ کی لگاتار ہوشیاری کو”]= ذکر کر کے ظاہر کرتی ہے کہ نہ تو اس پر سونے کی ضرورت ہوتی ہے اور نہ ہی وہ کبھی سوتا ہے۔ یہ صفت اللہ کی مخلوق پر لگاتار نگرانی اور حفاظت کو نمایاں کرتی ہے۔ انسان کی طرح جو آرام کی ضرورت ہوتی ہے، اللہ کبھی بھی تیار رہتے ہیں اور ان کی مخلوق کی تمام چیزوں پر نظر رکھتے ہیں۔
Divine Ownership:
This verse confirms finally that whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth, is all Allah’s possession. This is the declaration of ownership that HE is the guardian of all that exists in the universe from the stars right down to the earthly world. What exists, cannot do so independently and self-sufficiently without the permission and will of Allah.
Divine Intercession:
The question is insensitive by nature, and it goes, “Who is he that intercedeth with Him save by His leave?” The question underscores a high degree of discretion and judgment on the part of the Almighty. No intercession in Islam can be done without Allah’s consent – He who is the high judge par excellence and places ultimate emphasis on executive matters.
AYAT UL KURSI: Allaah’s knowledge is inclusive of all things. He has brought the present and past under it as well as the events to come. Allaah’s knowledge is full and perfect but applied only in carrying out the decress and choices.
